KUALA LUMPUR: Automated testing equipment maker Pentamaster Corp Bhd is optimistic about its prospects this year after the company reported its fourth straight quarters of rising net profit.
The company demand remained strong considering the size of its outstanding secured orders, it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.
“Both automated equipment and automated manufacturing solution segments should see growth momentum driven by the adoption of 5G in the telecommunications and automotive sectors as well as the prevalence of Industry 4.0 revolution in the consumer and industrial products segment,” the company said.
For the first quarter ended March 31, Pentamaster made a net profit of RM19.56mil compared with RM7.2mil registered a year ago.
Revenue increased 19.4% to RM118.76mil.
“In view of the continuous supply of its flagship test solutions, the broadening exposure of the Group in 3D sensing technology in VCSEL (vertical cavity surface emitting laser) and its efforts in diversifying its expertise across other business segments and customers, the directors maintain a positive outlook of the Group’s performance in 2019,” it said.
